Questions
What is a Capital Stewardship Campaign?
A Capital Stewardship Campaign is a church project that seeks pledged donations from members of the congregation to be used in paying for major initiatives. Financial commitments are paid over a three year period and represent second-mile giving, over and above our annual giving to the church.
How will the $2 million be spent?
The $2 million dollars will be spent in three basic ways:
-to retire our existing $1.5 million debt
-to make infrastructural improvements to the Melrose and Greenwood campuses
-to start the necessary groundwork for a new multi site location
Why is Broadway carrying so much debt?
The debt that Broadway has is due to the expenses incurred for accommodating the dynamic growth that we have experienced over the past 10 years. The additions of the MAC building and the Kids Zone wing; the acquisition of five surrounding properties for future use at the Melrose campus; and the successful launch of the Greenwood campus are all ways in which we have been able to reach more people. Without these additions, we would not have been able to experience this growth or to plan effectively for future growth.
Why is it important to conduct our As One Campaign at this time?
The main reasons we need to conduct the campaign now is:
-to ensure long term financial health
-to create an immediate positive financial impact on our budget by redirecting the $11,000 we spend on our debt each month to investment in our ministry
-to continue to accommodate our growth and position ourselves to capture the future God has for us
